This week’s theme is “Appreciation.” Beginning every August, we enter the classroom with energy and anticipation of a new school year. We take the time to prepare our classrooms, curriculum, and skills to work throughout the next nine months. The anticipation of the upcoming school year we face in August fills us with the joy of working with each and every one of our students. Then the school year begins and we do everything we can to anticipate the challenges we end up facing on a daily basis. We use the skills and knowledge we have gained through our own education and experience to navigate through the school year. Helping our kids learn and grow, while molding them into future leaders and members of society.
Fast forward to May and how has the anticipation you felt in August? As you reflect on one of the most challenging years as an educator, know that you have shown great leadership and compassion in helping the students at ACHS navigate through this year. Not only were you able to help the students through these challenging times, but you have prepared them for the new challenges they will face in the future. So as we begin teacher appreciation week, I wanted to be one of the first to say “Thank You” and I appreciate everything you do on a daily basis. Our students, their families, and our community are lucky to have you as a member of the staff. There have been ups and downs throughout the year, but through it, each and every one of you has been there for our students. Some may say it, but even if they don’t, I truly believe they appreciate everything you have done for them throughout this school year. It is with great pleasure that I say each and every one of you is appreciated. Have a great week and enjoy the rest of the school year.
