This week’s theme is “Integrity.” This is something that can and is continually called into question. Whether it is a celebrity, a government official, or the person next door, this is the most important characteristic the person possesses. It is not only what people think about the person. This is everything the person shows, speaks, and even puts in writing.
People’s integrity can and often defines their beliefs and ideals. Everyone has a level of integrity, but when they lose their perspective of right and wrong, their integrity is put into peril. This is often seen when their actions and words do not align. When a person is faced with a choice, what does that person choose? This conflict has been in the spotlight recently in the NFL with a couple of high-profile coaches. Their actions have conflicted with their roles as leaders and ultimately role models. As educators, we are held in high esteem as representatives of our community. We all have integrity and we show this every day. We believe in our mission to teach and mold young men and women into future quality members of society. Each of us makes sacrifices and we are all willing to make these sacrifices to better the lives of all those around us. Without your willingness to show integrity, your students and this community would not trust us to educate and lead. This week, be sure to show integrity and continue to lead with both your words and your actions. Quote: “Integrity is doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.” - C. S.
