I want to take a moment to thank all of you for the feedback you have been sharing regarding these Monday Morning Motivations. I hope you continue to enjoy and find inspiration in these weekly blogs. Today, I want to introduce a new format: For the first post of each month, I will share the thoughts and ideas of one of our colleagues. In our inaugural A+ Educator Edition, we are featuring the thoughts and musings of Tina Bairstow.
After college, Tina spent one year teaching at a private school in the Madison area. Then, she went on to earn her MBA and work as an IT Project Manager for healthcare organizations. Upon returning to Illinois, she rediscovered her passion for teaching and came to ACHS in 2007. Tina is an extremely dedicated teacher. She will take on any physical or intellectual challenge. Beyond her educational and work accomplishments, she has completed several triathlons and half-marathons, along with earning her black belt in Taekwondo. Tina’s proudest accomplishment is being a parent and raising two beautiful children. Please enjoy Tina’s Monday Motivations. Theme: Be You!
Sometimes, we doubt; sometimes, we are confident. Regardless of where you are today, if you truly care about the kids’ well-being and education, YOU’RE A GOOD TEACHER. Quote In Learning you will teach, In Teaching you will learn. - Phil Collins Goal This week, set a goal to learn something new about your students. (Learn while teaching) Reflection Last week you had a goal for effective communication. Did you achieve your goal? What did you do to achieve your goal? If you did not reach your goal, what should/could you do differently to reach it? Video Instead of a video, here is a podcast: Truth for Teachers. The episodes provide some new insight and give you something to listen to as you drive to work. Article What Shall we do about the Children after the Pandemic? - Teresa Thayer Snyder (from the Diane Ravitch Blog) Book Fewer Things Better by Angela Watson (the same person that does the Truth for Teachers podcast) I hope you enjoyed the thoughts and resources shared and thank you to Tina Bairstow.
